Seventy-five years ago in fall of 1948, the first class of Reserve Officer Training Corps students entered the newly developed UTEP military program in preparation of becoming officers in the U.S. military.
This first UTEP military class was able to fill the first, second, and third years of its military education program by drawing from students who were new to ROTC, students who participated in JROTC in high school, and returning World War II veterans.
As a program residing within the College of Liberal Arts, the UTEP Military Science Program aims to become as visible and accessible as possible, strengthening the school’s ties with the military, while creating a culture of excellence to offer the best possible environment for student cadets to train and develop.
Today, the program offers excellent career opportunities for individuals with the desire to learn leadership and organizational skills that will serve them academically and throughout their life.

Your donation will greatly enhance training skills and experiences for students enrolled in this program including the military ball, baton team challenge activities, travel expenses, academic support resources and student recruitment.
