Enhancing Visitor Experience at the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens

The Chihuahuan Desert Gardens are a hidden gem at UTEP. They are a place for the community to relax, study, and learn about native plants. However, the gardens currently lack Wi-Fi access that would enhance visitors' ability to fully use the space.

With your support, the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens will be able to:

  • Install Wi-Fi throughout the gardens to improve the visitor experience
  • Provide visitors with easy access to the newly redesigned website for the gardens, which will help visitors identify plants and learn more about them
  • Create an environment in which UTEP faculty and staff can comfortably spend time with access to internet

Thank you for your support!

$25

Tree Cholla

Tree Cholla colonies are created by plants of varying heights. We are grateful for gifts of all sizes and appreciate your support!

$50

Big Bend Prickly Pear

We appreciate your support! Many spines make a Big Bend Prickly Pear, and many community members will make the installation of Wi-Fi possible. Thank you for your gift.

$100

Texas Sage

Your gift is beautiful, just like the sage flowers after it rains. Thank you for helping us to improve the visitor experience at the gardens!

$250

Ocotillo

Thank you for your generous gift! We hope you will stand tall in knowing that your gift will help us bring internet to the gardens.

$500

Glory of Texas

We appreciate your gift! Your support is impressive, just like the flowers of the Glory of Texas cactus. Allow us to say thank you during a personal tour of the gardens with Dr. Kevin Floyd, Botanical Curator. A representative of the gardens will assist you in scheduling your visit after you make your gift.
