Climb Higher Initiative / Don Haskins

As UTEP Athletics gears up to join the Mountain West Conference in 2026, the ClimbHigher Initiative is our dedicated effort to meet the requirements and seize the opportunities this transition brings.

This fund focuses on four key areas:

• Capital Improvements: Upgrading locker rooms, practice facilities, competition sites, and renovating the Sun Bowl to align with Mountain West standards.
• Sport Operating Budgets: Increasing operating budgets across all sports to provide the resources our teams need to compete and thrive.
• Student-Athlete Experience: Enhancing scholarship support, covering costs of attendance, Alston funds, and bolstering direct NIL opportunities to give our student-athletes the competitive edge they deserve.
